I have lived in this alleged “free-state” for my entire life.
I fucking hate the politics (no more vulgarities herein!)
The division on the federal level could go as far back as 15 to 20 years ago. I noticed the change when our “elected officials” at the state level would act immature, childish, and name-call, and it became amateur hour for our elected officials. I didn’t like when it came to Medicaid waiver funding issues when the area agencies would relay political messages and blame one party of the other.
Over the last several years, things have gotten really worse. Now you have narcissistic types running the show. People who get elected often have poor social skills who expect the constituents to be professional; so then they can act like children (there goes that authoritative element.) A lot of our state level reps do not understand government, and you even have recently
I just love how Hearst’s ABC affiliate in our state, WMUR-TV Manchester continues to carry an XDCAM around our politics as if the public wants to be force fed with #NHPolitics (the defacto-standard of the social hashtah of said topic, because #NHPoli seems to cash, not formal, not authoritative, and for old bushy faced men who should get laid once and while!)
We have elected officials who go and have convos on other social media platforms (with poor transmission quality) and talk about other state’s issues, or sometimes talk about the “deep state”; but ironically one can make an argument in the State of New Hampshire, of the 10,000 bureaucrats, I could say many are overt conservative republicans who only serve to their own people
Melissa Blasek, is not so sweet. She banned your’s truly on her politically assigned Facebook fan-page when she made snarky remarks on welfare after the 2020 election without much apparent knowledge on the subject. She’s in my district, and I did not vote for her in 2020 and I refuse to vote for her ever because of what she did then. Like most of the our pols, very single issued, simple minded, because I guess whatever works outside of government must work from within. But most of the young tight-righties are anti-civil rights, that cling to power on the most weakest level (that is the General Court or the NH Legislature) by putting zero-tolerance of non Caucasian and heterosexual and atypical people through backass regulation.
I do not trust the low rent NHGOP and the NHDP is for the people north and west of 93 & 89… no one is looking out for me an atypical partially Caucasian, asexual (at this point.) No one is looking out for me, I am not going to vote for a Democrat just to keep my supports funded; but I also do not endorse xenophobic, Caucasian superior, defending the “family” rather than defending everyone. I guess that’s why there is a few single millennials because the state’s laws forbid them, and only protect heterosexual families.
Wait till your sheltered kids grow up… that will be amusing to witness.
But I may write in minifigure Metro Miniland pols instead of humans on Tuesday, because we live in a perverted reality that Lego minifigures may be more honest than actual people. No one is looking out for me in the next 25 years…
“Live Free or Kill Yourself” should be the official motto as that’s more blunt and more realistic to the messaging in our goddamned politics.
